I have released a new collection of throw cushions inspired by my ‘Urchin’ collection of artwork. You can see the entire collection of artwork and patterns here, in my portfolio.
The Urchin collection wasn’t actually inspired by sea urchins. I finished work on the collection while I was in Croatia, and the drawings reminded me so much of the urchins underwater that I decided to name the collection after them.
The idea at first was simply to work with unusual circular patterns.
I often like to take one motif and stretch its boundaries, transform it, and see how many variations of the theme can make interesting and unique designs and patterns.
Circles symbolise so much; eternity, the life cycle, continuity, but they also work well in interior design because they are gentle on the eyes. Our subconscious is more relaxed by round shapes than by geometric patterns and angles.
You can shop the whole collection of cushions here.
This collection consists of three designs; a turquoise/blue pattern on a black cushion, a white motif on a light grey cushion, and a different white motif on a mint green cushion.
These throw cushions can are perfect for living room or bedroom decor.
